5 stars, Much better than the first sensor we used
By Tom from Massachusetts on 2016-11-05
Pros: Self-contained on underwear, Easy to clip on normal underwear and stays on
Our first experience was with a wired product that used snaps to clip the sensor to the underwear and the alarm to the shirt. These were hard to clip and eventually the underwear snap wore out and would not stay on. The clipping system on this works much better. The wireless receiver works well and has adjustable volume.
5 stars, 2nd Purchase
By DMJB from Detroit on 2016-09-15
I have two boys but only one needed extra help. This is the second unit I purchase due to a relapse. The first one was many years ago. Still basically the same model. I find the instructions to be poorly written. Works great after you get it set up. As a side note, the most important part of the process is education. The book that is available on the website is more important then the alarm in terms of understanding what is happening and why the bedwetting alarms can help in most situations. It wasn't until I read this short book that I realized it is has nothing to do with the child's behavior or routines (drinking before bedtime, laziness, etc). Don't punish the child and help them the right way. Get the book and the alarm. You will be glad you did.
1 stars, This silly thing does not work!
By Sarah from Austin, TX on 2016-05-24
I recently purchased the green Malam alarm for my 7.5 year old son who is having problems stay dry at night. I am so incredibly disappointed that this alarm does not work! I took the time to read the packet of information that comes with the alarm. It was important to me that this WORKED and helped my son with his issue. My son has wet the bed three separate times and the alarm has NOT gone off. It's unacceptable to spend this kind of money on a product that doesn't work.
5 stars, Good product. Easy to use.
By Jody from Lawrenceville ga on 2016-05-14
Comfortable, easy to use.
1 stars, Worked for only 2 days, very frustrating
By Tara from Centerton, Arkansas on 2016-05-10
Purchased this for my six-year-old daughter. It worked for 2 nights and then the alarm would not sound or react to wetness. We changed the batteries in both the receiver & the sensor, still nothing. Called Customer Service & were given instructions on how to reset both pieces of equipment, and it still does not work. Very frustrating considering we paid over $150 for this sensor and still have the same bed wetting issues we had before.
1 stars, Not a dependable product!
By nancy from tennessee on 2016-05-05
Product worked as described on website until it malfunctioned 2 weeks into the training process. I contacted the company via email twice and never received a reply for my request to have the product replaced. How am I supposed to finish what we have started with my child who is willing to participate with a product that no longer works??? The product was expensive quality wise. Sadly, it worked well while functioning properly.
1 stars, Feeling Ripped Off
By Feeling Ripped Off from El Paso, TX on 2016-05-03
I am very let down with the product. The batteries last two nights. I properly turn off both devices every morning.... what a waste! My daughter hasn't been able to be consistent with this. Not one night dry :(
1 stars, Works but worked 2 weeks
By Jock from Tennessee on 2016-04-30
The process worked but the device malfunctioned after only 2 weeks. What a disappointment!
4 stars, I was hesitant to buy this at first but am so glad I did!
By Borabora from florida on 2016-04-22
Pros: Easy to use, portable
Cons: Sensor sometimes challenging to attach at night
I purchased an extra transponder alarm so parents could sleep in their own bed, yet hear the alarm in the my granddaughters room. This was the best decision! I was skeptical that this would work but in 13 days my granddaughter now hears the alarm gets up and goes to the bathroom! Would recommend this product.
2 stars, Keeps alarming
By JRJ from Chicago on 2016-03-27
It keeps alarming for over 15 minutes until we turn it off once we put on dry underwear despite drying it off thoroughly. We shipped it back and they said everything checks out fine. We will see because it wasn't working before and customer service even heard it constantly going off while trouble shooting
4 stars, Seems to be helping
By Bill in AZ from Maricopa AZ on 2016-03-25
Pros: The child wakes up immediately which stops flow
In first 6 days, only one incident of wetting more than a spot on underwire. Two dry nights and self esteem higher already.
5 stars, It's a great product, really making a difference.
By George from Houston on 2016-03-02
Pros: Wireless, Ability to use multiple receivers
Wireless product that can have multiple receivers, one for the child (MAX volume) and one for the parents (LOW volume) is great to get the process starting. The key is to aiding the child to gradually recognize, and even preempt, the signals of a full bladder and realizing/valuing that the best option is to get up and go to the restroom.
4 stars, Worked quickly and easily
By Professional Mom from South Dakota on 2015-10-30
Withing 10 days my 6-year-old was dry every night and we stopped using the alarm. She has been dry for 20 nights in a row. The instructions say that it takes about 12 weeks to work, so her pattern may not be typical. The problem that we had was that the clip was painful and the transmitter got in the way. If she rolled over, the clip pressed into her and hurt a little. The same for the transmitter. We tried many different placements, but never found one that was always comfortable. Because of this, she was fed up with the alarm and we likely would have discontinued use if she hadn't demonstrated progress so quickly.
5 stars, Works great...
By Marie from Lexington Ky on 2015-09-22
Works like it should just doesn't budge my kid....he sleeps too soundly. Wakes me up though from across hallway.
1 stars, This product did not work
By Stacie from Michigan on 2015-09-04
The alarm did not wake up my son. Not useful at all. Waste of money
5 stars, Perfect for a deep-sleeping kid
By Little Dude's Mom from Salt Lake City, UT on 2015-08-17
We got the set with an extra receiver, and so glad we did. Our son sleeps so deeply that he didn't hear the alarm at first and needed me to wake him up. Having a receiver in my room allowed me to wake up and help him. He eventually was able to wake up with the alarm on his own so I just had to check on him when it went off. It is well-designed to withstand being played with and being slept on by a deep - sleeping, wriggly kid. It is easy for him to attach and use. He was dry at night in a matter of a few weeks using this product.
5 stars, Excellent and easy alarm
By One happy mom from Meridian, ID on 2015-07-13
Pros: Wireless, Easy
Best Uses: Nighttime Accidents
I bought the Malem Wireless alarm after initially trying the Rodger Wireless alarm. This alarm far surpasses the Rodger for ease of use. The receiver sits right on my son's dresser and after getting off to a slow start he has now been dry for seven nights straight. He wakes up, turns off the alarm, uses the bathroom, and is so proud of himself. I also bought two of the bedwetting pads which I highly recommend. They made it so easy the first week when he had a few accidents in the middle of the night. Initially he completely wet his undies, but after about ten days he would wet just a bit, wake up to the alarm, use the potty, and go back to bed. I would get up and help him each time which also allowed me to offer him positive reinforcement. He now holds it until morning when he wakes. It really helped to read the book that we initially received with the Rodger bedwetting kit. I highly recommend it otherwise, I wouldn't have known about double voiding or that even after the fourteen consecutive dry nights to use it every other night for another fourteen days. This helps to ensure the brain has been trained. Malem is an excellent product and you will be happy if you use it as directed!
5 stars, It worked!
By Everybody is happy! from Minneapolis, MN on 2015-07-10
My son just turned 8 years old. He did not want to wear pull-ups anymore, so he was very motivated to try the alarm. He had never been dry a night in his life until a couple months ago. He thought the alarm was uncomfortable at first, but he got used to it. He wet 6 nights out of 7 (1-3x per night) during the first week of using the alarm. We had a prize box of things from the $ store in the bathroom and he got to pick a prize if he got up when the alarm beeped and went into the bathroom and changed his underwear and finished peeing if he needed to (with a parent with him at first). He wet 1 or 2 times per week during weeks 2 through 7. He now has been dry for 14 nights in a row (we're in the middle of week 9). We are going to start using the alarm every other night. I am super happy that he has made such awesome progress and so is he!
5 stars, Miracle solution!
By Kalli from Newfoundland, Canada on 2015-06-20
Pros: It works, Confortable, easy to use
Best Uses: Sound Sleeper
Our 7 year old son was still in pull ups and peed through them most nights. We decided to try this alarm as a last effort prior to medicating to stop the bed wetting. The alarm was confortable for our son and he was able to choose the sound to wake him up which helped with his involvement. The first 3 nights, he wet the bed and didn't wake up to the alarm - we heard the alarm and had to wake him up. After night 3 everything changed! He still wet the bed some nights after the third night but he woke up at the sound of the alarm and was able to stop peeing until he walked to the bathroom, and finished peeing in the toilet. The results were incredible! My son was such a sound sleeper prior to this alarm and he just couldn't wake up to pee in the night, This alarm fixed that problem within the first week! Yes, he wet the bed periodically over a few weeks after starting the alarm, but it wasn't every night. Within 4 weeks he was completely night trained! The results were simply amazing! We had seen a urologist for our son and when telling him about the results he was amazed and asked us about the product so he could research it himself! I highly recommend this product! If your child is bed wetting due to being a sound sleeper this alarm works and is worth every penny!
1 stars, Not effective
By Frustrated parent from Bel Air, MD on 2015-04-23
The product is easy to use, but ineffective. I've come into the room several times, to hear the alarm going off, and my son is sound asleep. He hasn't improved, at all, in the 6 weeks we've been using it. Total waste of money.
3 stars, Works well. Difficult for small children
By Me from Alberta, Canada. on 2015-03-26
Pros: Reliable alarm, Adjustable volume, Very Loud, Small and comfortable
Cons: Expensive, Poor Reset Design
We use this with our three year old son. The only issue we have is when he wakes up and "resets" the alarm it immediately goes off again as of course he's still wet and has the transmitter on. Even though it says not to we end up turning the receiver off every time as having it blaring away as your child is crying in fear and frustration as the alarm won't shut up is not productive during the training. The reset should last several minutes, at least long enough for him to get it off and head to the bathroom. Beyond that difficulty it works very well and is very loud. Plenty loud enough to wake us up from our bedroom. The sensor and transmitter portion of the product seems well designed and works flawlessly however they chose to use an uncommon a23 battery for size. This isn't so bad so long as you don't forget it latched and kill the battery only to realize you don't have any in the house. The receiver is poorly designed as I have said above. For the expense I would have expected something with a little more customization and a better reset system. The video demonstration of the product didn't indicate that the child has to take the sensor off to keep it from reactivating the alarm immediately after the reset was pressed. All that aside its very effective in waking him up very quickly. Rarely is there more than a dime sized spot on his underwear. He goes several nights in a row without issue but continues to wear it and enjoys being successful. He's very happy and sleeps well knowing he won't wake up in a puddle like the other systems we have tried.
4 stars, helpful
By Debbie from Los Angeles on 2015-03-11
Helpful in training our daughter to stay dry at night. The con is that it has gone off a few times when she has just moved in bed or after she went to the potty in the toilet. But overall it is helpful and I would recommend it. It has motivated my daughter to get up at night when she needs to use the restroom instead of wetting her bed.
4 stars, Good quality, loud alarm
By A and E's Mom from Maryland on 2015-02-25
Pros: LOUD, Choose The Sound, Wireless
Cons: Tiny Switch To Turn Off
Best Uses: Long term use
This is great for waking us up to get my child out of bed to use the bathroom. It wakes our child up as well. Bedwetting happens less often now. It isn't a cure but it helps. This is the second one we've bought. The first lasted a few years. We bought a different kind as well but it wasn't as good and had wires that were annoying.
5 stars, So glad I picked this style of alarm!
By Very Satisfied Mom from Minnetonka, MN on 2015-02-18
I love that you can use this alarm with regular underware. In the beginning (FIRST Week) you may be getting up 3 times a night, and needing that many 'special' underware for other alarm models would get very pricey. The alarm instructions also stated that after only 1 week, for most people the alarm will not go off more than 1 time per night - happy to say this was true for us (even though the alarm went off a lot the first week). Also, I know I read somewhere that kids use the alarm on average for 10 weeks - that sounded daunting to me, but what wasn't clear to me then is that you use the alarm until they have acheived 14 consecutive days of being fully dry. My son is in week 10 right now (2 days away from 14 days!), but he's reached 7-8 days in a row multiple times. In weeks 4-9, the alarm only went off 6 times total (ave once per week). Several people commented on the battery running out quickly, and I'm guessing they did not fully read the instructions. It clearly states to ensure that the red lever on the clip is not engaged when not in use, or it will drain quickly. The instructions had A LOT of helpful advice and tips - I suggest reading them completely. I love the battery operated receiver (instead of plug in model) - very convenient to position where you want, and has been great when traveling (where plug ins may not have been easily accessible). Volume control is great - good range of soft to very loud. I'm VERY happy with this product! After 7.5 years of pull ups, we are about done!!
5 stars, Does the job

5 stars, Malem Alarm is the Best!
By Hockey Mom from Nashville, TN on 2015-01-31
Pros: Easy to use
Cons: Initial Settings Difficul
I loved the alarm. It was the only thing that worked for both of my sons. We are thrilled with the results. They have both been completely dry for over 6 months now. I highly recommend the Malem alarm system.
5 stars, It's a miracle
By Miracle worker from Canada on 2015-01-24
Pros: Variety of sounds, Easy to use, Easy to clean
Best Uses: Bed wetting
My 8 year old son wet the bed every night, after reading "Stop Washing the Sheets" we incorporated better bowel health including increasing water consumption throughout the whole day. After three weeks of this we started using the alarm. This alarm is queing when he wets so that he can learn to hold the urine in and make it to the toilet to void the rest. My son actually said that this alarm is "a miracle!" He is waking once to twice a night, making it to the bathroom and then waking dry. He went all night last night with no alarm and dry sheets! It is a work in progress but he is motivated and has seen results. No more pull ups!
5 stars, "I would buy this product again"
By bing16h from Middleburg, PA on 2014-12-03
I think this product works very well. It has many different sounds to choose from. Our bedroom is close enough for us to hear it go off. My son is a deep sleeper, so we have to go get him up sometimes when the alarm goes off. It does take time and patients with this.
3 stars, Alright product
By Danielle from Canada on 2014-11-13
Pros: Different tones, Son Loves The Color, Wireless, Ease of Use
Cons: Not loud enough, Pricey, Sometimes Doesn't Sound
Although this alarm is not loud enough to wake our very sound sleeper son, it does alarm us (we can hear it over a baby monitor from upstairs) that he has wet so we can quickly get downstairs and wake him ourselves. He has started to wake up when he needs to empty his bladder so we are seeing some improvement, but disappointed for sure in the loudness of the alarm for the price point. Not sure I would purchase this product again- more of a mommy/daddy notification system that a bedwetting alarm for him.
5 stars, Works great!
By Hopeful Mom from New York on 2014-11-03
My 10 year old son has been using the alarm for a little over a month. He used to wear Good Nites every night and I still had to change the bed every morning. He is no longer wearing Good Nites and I have only had to change the bed twice since he started wearing the alarm (and that was in the first week or so). He will wake up a couple of times a night to pee, sometimes because the alarm goes off, and sometimes he gets up before the alarm goes off. He generally does not hear the alarm when it goes off early in the night, but his body still responds because he stops peeing. I have to get him up to go to the bathroom though. Later in the night he will hear the alarm if he hasn't awakened first.
