Seven Steps to Nighttime Dryness is written for parents who need assistance with helping their child achieve dryness. Written by Renee Mercer, a nurse practitioner with years of success in helping kids learn to stay dry at night, she outlines a positive, very practical approach to ending bedwetting. In seven steps, you will learn:

  1. (1) What does and does not cause bedwetting
  2. (2) How to select the right time to start treatment
  3. (3) The treatment options available, and which is right for your child
  4. (4) How to choose a bedwetting alarm
  5. (5) How to prepare your child to begin treatment
  6. (6) How to effectively use a bedwetting alarm
  7. (7) When to stop treatment

This book answers hundreds of commonly asked questions that parents and children have about bedwetting and the steps to achieve dryness. It provides in depth information on what to expect when using a bedwetting alarm, how parents should respond and common children's responses.

Comments from the Bedwetting Store

After years of treating children with bedwetting, I noticed that the same parental questions and concerns kept occurring. Parents worried that they did something to contribute to the bedwetting or that there was something "wrong" with their child. Sometimes embarrassment kept them from seeking treatment until their child was much older, or well-meaning advice suggesting that they needed to wait "until their child grew out of it" delayed treatment. In my book, Seven Steps to Nighttime Dryness, I have outlined easy steps for families to follow in their quest for dryness. These are the same steps that I use successfully in my practice for treating children with bedwetting. The extensive question and answer section provides sought after advice for parents. This book is an essential companion when using any bedwetting alarm.

  • Comments about Seven Steps to Nighttime Dryness: 1st Edition:
I read this book very quickly marking and underlining as I read. My 15 yr. old son is a type one diabetic with developmental delays. To my surprise, this book dealt with these issues! We started using the alarm in July, 2011. He has been consistantly dry for 23 nights in a row. The last nine nights we have used the alarm every other night while staying dry each night. We have 5 nights to go before we will not need to use the alarm any more. It has been so wonderful not to change sheets in the middle of the night. He is waking ON HIS OWN to use the bathroom when needed at night. I learned so many facts and details as to why my son was a bedwetter. I would never have understood all that I do now without this book.
