Camouflage 8 Tone is on Backorder Until December 2019
Children love these brightly colored and well-designed bed wetting alarms from Malem. A small, ultra lightweight alarm is comfortably worn on the nightwear close to the shoulder. It weighs less than one ounce including batteries and even glows when sounding!
The bedwetting alarm is connected to a clip-on moisture sensor which anchors to the outside of any close fitting underwear for boys or girls. Sensor contacts are within the clip so skin contact or sweating will not trigger the alarm.
Malem alarms are well constructed and durable, with sounds that wake children. Available with a single tone (red) or 8 separate tones (yellow) to prevent "audio accommodation" - getting used to one sound and tuning it out. A different non-selectable tone is activated each time the alarm is triggered on the yellow alarm. The alarm sounds continuously until the sensor is removed, allowing you or your child sufficient time to effectively respond to the alarm.
Included with every Malem Bedwetting Alarm are instructions for use, charts to track progress and one set of batteries. Uses 3 alkaline "button" style batteries per set (Eveready A76).
If you asked your child which bed wetting alarm they would choose, this would be it! Kid's love the "cool" colors and design, and parents love the Easy-Clip sensor that children can easily clip onto the underwear themselves. This very small alarm is great for children less than eight.
Parents often ask if a single tone or 8 tone alarm work "better" to cure enuresis. Since there is no research to support the selection of one type over another, the choice is a personal one. Pure behaviorists would recommend a single tone bedwetting alarm, while families whose children seem to "tune out" sounds quickly might choose a random tone alarm. Both alarms work well in alerting the child and family that they need to get up to go to the bathroom.
This Malem alarm takes 3 A76 Batteries that last for approximately one hour of sounding time. Extra batteries (set of 3) can be purchased for $6.00 here.

My 8 year old was completely potty trained. Out of no where he started bedwetting almost nightly. Soaking his sheets. I got the alarm as a last resort because we couldn't get in with the urologist. 1st and 2nd weeks were a struggle. Kid would still wet the bed and couldn't figure out how to turn the alarm off, so it woke up the house. By week 3, just 1 night of wetness (slightly), by week 4, dry with and without the alarm
This product was so wonderful for us! We had 2 bedwetters, one very stubborn. We tried everything! This took 4 months of dedication (I slept with her for 6 weeks) as she is a VERY heavy sleeper and was peeing 4-5 times a night. But it worked great!!!!! And in the meantime, the other got trained on his room as he would hear the alarm and get up too! One small relapse for a week a few months later but used the alarm again and it fixed it! It's now been 2.5 years of dryness! So small and portable. I highly recommend the book 7 steps to nighttime dryness as well and several washable waterproof bed covers.
Doesn't wake my son up. It's to late when it goes off
My daughter is 9 and has been wetting the bed nightly since the beginning. Spoke to her dr before and was told she'd eventually grow out of it. We tried everything. Restricting fluids, waking her up in the middle of the night, nothing worked. Finally, I ordered this alarm. I was skeptical. The first night she slept through the alarm. I just knew then that it wouldn't work. To my surprise, the second night it woke her up. After about a week of wearing it, she was accident free!! We're going on a month of no bed wetting, it's truly a miracle worker.
I've never written a product review before but this one really warrants a positive recommendation. Our son had maybe 5 dry nights in his life and was wearing (and filling) pull-ups every night. He was excited to start this process with the alarm a few weeks after his 7th birthday, as he really was motivated to get out of the pull-ups. We were prepared for several sleepless nights with multiple wake-ups and lots of wet sheets, but the first week we used the alarm he only wet the bed once! The alarm woke him quickly enough the other nights that he was able to get to the bathroom quickly and then just needed a quick change of underwear and pajama bottoms. By the second week, he was dry all night except for one night, and weeks 5-12 he was completely dry every night. If he has to go during the night, he wakes up and just goes, but more often just sleeps through the night. It is AMAZING!! Highly recommend this approach.
